Great Community Give Back
October 1-31
At the library and grab-and-go
For all ages
During the month of October, Galway Library is hosting the Great Community Give Back – a statewide program to provide a day of opportunities for library patrons and community members to participate in a meaningful, service-oriented experience. The program is for kids AND adults to participate in. We are having three simultaneous programs to support our area community:
First is the creation of greeting cards to be distributed to patients at area hospitals. Cards can be made at home or at the library, and we will provide cards and materials to decorate with. We would love to have a lot of cards to send to the hospitals to spread cheer.
Second, a non-perishable food drive for the Galway Food Pantry. As extra incentive, we will decrease accumulated library late fees by $1 per item.
Third, a similar food drive, but to support the Saratoga County Animal Shelter. For every can or unopened bag of dog/cat food that is donated, we will also give $1 off on fines.

This allows us to help a number of organizations in our area and allows patrons options of which organization they would prefer to assist.
Registration is not required, and anyone can participate.
