Amityville

Amityville hosted a food drive to help the St. Martin of Tours Food Pantry.

 

Center Moriches

Center Moriches patrons helped spread kindness to unsuspecting community members by creating kindness rocks to hide around town.

 

Comsewogue

Comsewogue celebrated their 50th anniversary on October 14th, and the community’s teens were there to help make the event a success by volunteering their time.

 

Copiague

Copiague held a Halloween costume drive for their community, and teen volunteers were on hand to organize the donations and help families find the perfect costumes.

 

Cutchogue-New Suffolk

Cutchogue-New Suffolk, decked out for the fall season, held a scavenger hunt with some fantastic raffle prizes, a community breakfast featuring local civic and charitable organizations, and an “ADOPT ME” portrait painting program. The works of art created will be displayed at the Southold Animal Shelter to promote adoption.

 

Deer Park

Deer Park patrons helped create caterpillar craft kits that will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to brighten patient’s stays.

 

Emma S. Clark

Emma S. Clark Memorial Library held a Pet Food Drive, which kicked off on last year’s Great Give Back Day. The teen volunteers who distributed the pet food are in costumes because the last day of the drive was Halloween! They also had a volunteer opportunity for 5th & 6th graders to make dog toys for local animal rescue organizations (not pictured).

Harborfields

Harborfields teen librarians spread library goodness with the Greenlawn Civic Association at Greenlawn Community Day in Coral Park.

 

Mattituck-Laurel

Mattituck-Laurel collected pantry items for the Ronald McDonald House. They held a reception on the Front Lawn of the library with refreshments and activities, and invited officers from the Southold Town Police Department to stop by so patrons could thank them.

Middle Country

Middle Country held a morning ceremony celebrating the installation of a Little Free Library at the Selden Dog Park. Later back at the Centereach Branch, volunteers created no-sew blankets and dog beds to be donated to local shelters.

 

Northport-East Northport

Northport-East Northport held a community Volunteer Fair, featuring representatives from local organizations looking to bring on volunteers. Teen volunteers were also on hand to run two crafting events, kindness rocks and tea bag cozy creation.

 

Patchogue-Medford 

Patchogue-Medford held a cleanup at the Lakeview Cemetery.

Sachem

Sachem held a community cleanup at Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Park at Lake Ronkonkoma. They also had opportunities at the library in the afternoon for patrons to make cards and mementos for veterans and hospital patients. They also held a drive for Boots on the Ground.

 

Shelter Island

Shelter Island is holding a month-long winter coat, scarf and mittend rive to benefit the Clothting Room at Maureen’s Haven. The donations collected so far are proudly displayed on Maisey the Giraffe!

 

Southold

Southold held a drive to collect various goods that volunteers helped turn into kits to be donated to hurricane and flood victims.
