Be Good, Do Good: Volunteer Fair

History shows that an active, involved citizenry is necessary for democracy – and what better way to get involved than with New York State’s cultural heritage and cultural education institutions!
As part of New York’s ongoing NY250 commemoration, the New York State Library (NYSL) is hosting the Be Good, Do Good volunteer fair from 11 am to 1 pm Sunday, October 18, 2026. This is offered in partnership with the New York State Museum and is a collaborative Cultural Education Center event highlighting volunteerism and civic engagement.
By featuring the great work of cultural organizations and encouraging our friends and neighbors to embrace their patriotic duty, we will be supporting the Great Give Back, a community service initiative created by the Suffolk County Public Library Directors Association and the Suffolk Cooperative Library System, in conjunction with the Nassau Library System. It also aligns with America Gives, one of the programs of America250, the bipartisan commemoration of U.S. history.
