Halloween Costume Exchange<\/strong>
9\/22\/2026 – 10\/31\/2026
For all ages
As part of The Great Give Back, a community service initiative for public libraries in New York State, we will be accepting donations of clean, gently used Halloween costumes. Starting today, September 22nd until October 9th, you can drop off any Halloween costume donations during library hours (Tues-Fri 12-5pm, Sat 9am-1pm).
Our costume closet will be open to \u201cshop\u201d and pick out a costume from October 10th until October 31st!
Donate a costume, take a costume or both! You do not have to donate in order to take a new one.
No registration is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Infant Essentials for Hygiene Pantry<\/strong>

For all ages
We are accepting donations of infant essentials – diapers, baby wipes, clothing, lotion, etc. – for our library’s hygiene pantry. Donations can be placed on the marked table next to the copy machine on the main floor.
Registration is not required; anyone is invited to participate.

Gilbertsville Free Library<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Great Give Back<\/strong>

For all ages
The Gilbertsville Free Library will be collecting donations of food items for the Butternut Valley Food Pantry and Butternut Valley Pet Pantry. Donations of non-perishable items will be accepted for the Food Pantry along with pet food and cat litter for the Pet Pantry.
Bonus: Anyone who donates an item will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 Visa gift card.
No registration is required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Household + Hygiene Drive for Colesville Food Pantry<\/strong>

For all ages
We are collecting dish soap, laundry detergent, bath tissue, and body wash for the Colesville Food Pantry. New, full-sized items can be dropped off at the library during regular business hours: Monday thru Thursday 11:30 am \u2013 4:30pm, Friday 9am \u2013 3pm and Saturday 9am \u2013 1pm. Thank you for supporting our community!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make Hats with Us!<\/strong>

For adults
Join us in collaboration with the Hamilton Public Library to make hats for those in need this cold season. Beginners welcome! Instruction, tools, and yarn will be included in program. If you bring your own yarn, please make sure to bring a bulky weight. Hats made outside of program will also be accepted for donation.
Registration is not required.

Each October, the William B. Ogden Free Library is proud to take part in The Great Give Back, a statewide initiative that encourages libraries across New York to give back to the communities they serve through meaningful service projects. Can Opener and Food Drive<\/strong>

YHPL is collecting can openers and non-perishable microwave meals for the Wildcat Food and Clothing Closet from October 1st though the end of the year.
No registrations and no restrictions on who can donate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
