Afton Free Library<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cold Weather Accessory Drive<\/strong>
October 18th – November 22nd
Babies, Toddlers, Children, Teens
Chenango County Foster Care is in need of Cold Weather Accessories for all ages – Babies, Toddlers, Kids, & Teens. Please drop off Hats, Gloves, Mittens, or Scarves at the Afton Free Library Collection Box during regular business hours between 10\/18 – 11\/22.

Halloween Costume Closet<\/strong>
October 14th – 31st
We are accepting clean, pre-used costumes of all types and sizes and offering them, at no charge, to those who desire a costume. All ages; no registration required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edmeston Free Library<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Halloween Costume Exchange<\/strong>
October 11th – 25th
The Edmeston Free Library will be accepting donations for gently used, clean Halloween costumes starting Friday September 12th until October 10th. You can drop them off during the library\u2019s open hours (T-Fri 12-5, Sat 9-1).
On Saturday October 11th, 18th and 25th from 9-1pm, anyone from the community can come to the library to \u201cshop\u201d through the donations and find a costume for Halloween! One costume per person.
You do not have to donate a costume in order to get one. You can donate, take a costume OR both. Anyone can donate but we will only be distributing costumes to the members of our community.
No registration needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Street\/Green Space Cleanup<\/strong>
October 18th – 25th
All ages
We’ve tasked our community to join us in a community-wide cleanup in preparation for the upcoming winter months. … weeding green spaces, picking up trash etc. We put a notice in the local newspaper, a spot on our website and Facebook page to invite individuals\/organizations to come and join the event. We’ve told them that they can pick a portion of the project area and just let us know what they did and how long it took them. We are hoping for a great turnout!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collecting Donations for Catherine\u2019s Cupboard<\/strong>
October 13th – 17th
We will be collecting donations for Catherine\u2019s Cupboard, a food pantry located in Hillcrest, NY. Catherine\u2019s Cupboard is located in the St Francis of Assisi Parish Center and provides grocery and personal care items to those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food Drive for the Union-Endicott CSD Family Support Center<\/strong>
October 27th – November 8th
The George F. Johnson Memorial Library is partnering with the Union Endicott CSD Family Support Center to gather donations for their Food Center. The library will be collecting non-perishable food items during normal library hours, starting October 27th and running until November 8th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huntington Memorial Library<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Period Supply Drive<\/strong>
October 4th – 18th
Huntington Memorial Library is having a Period Supply Drive to help stock our soon-to-come Period Pantry with pads, tampons, liners, menstrual cups and discs as well as body wipes. The supply drive is from October 4 through the 18th, and we will have an informative program on October 16 called End Period Poverty, Period. Educators from Cooperstown Food Pantry and Opportunities for Otsego will discuss how period poverty affects people and what their organizations are doing to help neighbors in our community who are unable to afford period products. Donations of period products and body wipes will be gratefully accepted at the door.

Open house, displays, $25.00 Visa drawing, activities for the kids, book giveaway, and refreshments of cookies and lemonade. All ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mary Wilcox Memorial Library<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food Pantry Drive<\/strong>
October 10th – 24th
Food Pantries all over are facing increasing costs and increasing demands. The MWML will be sponsoring a food drive to help the Local Whitney Point Food Pantry. As the start date gets near, there will be lists available detailing what items are in the greatest of need.
No Registration Required
All donations can be dropped off at the Mary Wilcox Memorial Library at 2630 Main St, Whitney Point NY during Library Hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Great Giveback<\/strong>

The Moore Memorial Library will be collecting non-perishable food items for the local food bank from 10\/1-10\/18\/25, during regular library hours.

Household + Hygiene Drive<\/strong>
October 13th – 18th
Nineveh Public Library is holding a Household + Hygiene Drive the week of October 13 – 18. We are collecting dish soap, laundry detergent, bath tissue, and bath soap or body wash for the Colesville Food Pantry. New items can be dropped off at the library during regular business hours: Monday – Thursday, 11am – 5pm, Friday & Saturday 9am – 3pm. Thank you for supporting our community!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spread care and kindness this fall by making cards for patients at Chenango Memorial Hospital. Oxford Memorial Library is hosting a handmade card workshop and collection drive. Join us on October 18th to make cards or drop-off your handmade creations at the library from October 1st-31st.

Care Cabinet Supply Drive<\/strong>
October 1st – 31st
Oxford Memorial Library is collecting donations to establish a Community Care Cabinet. Please consider donating hygiene supplies such as menstrual products, shampoo & conditioner, soap, toothpaste and tooth brushes, deodorant, bodywash, hand sanitizer, and lotion. The library also has an amazon wish list with donation ideas that can be purchases and delivered directly to the library. Please only donate new unopened supplies. All donations can be dropped off at the Oxford Memorial Library during open hours. We are the single location in Roxbury for food donations other than the food pantry itself. During library hours we are here for community members to drop off donations of food, personal products, or funds.

Sherburne Public Library is holding their annual Fall Family Festival in Gaines Park (next to the library) on Saturday, October 18th from 12 – 3pm. There will be a costume contest (for all ages), cider and donuts, games and crafts. There is no admission for this event, but since it is part of the Great Give Back, please bring donations for the Food Pantry as a way to give back to our community.

Helping the Hounds<\/strong>

The Sidney Memorial Public Library is soliciting donations of food and toys for the Delaware County Humane Society. No registration required, just kind gifts for the cats and dogs in the shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gathering Table Saturday Luncheon<\/strong>

On Saturday, October 25, the William B. Ogden Free Library staff and board members are rolling up their sleeves for The Great Give Back! As part of this statewide library initiative, we\u2019ll be volunteering at The Gathering Table at the First Congregational Church\u2014preparing and serving a free community lunch at 11:30 AM. The Great Give Back is all about libraries stepping outside their walls to give back in meaningful ways, and we\u2019re proud to support this wonderful program that brings neighbors together. Stop by for a meal, say hello, and help us celebrate the power of community and connection!

Donations for Super Heroes Humane Society<\/strong>

The Worcester-Schenevus Library will be collecting donations \/ supplies for the Super Heroes Humane Society, located in Oneonta NY. They are a no-kill animal shelter, offering low cost spay \/ neutering, pet adoption, vaccinations, a pet food pantry, temporary hardship boarding and fostering.

Your Home Public Library<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food Drive for St. James Food Pantry<\/strong>
October 1st – December 31st
We will be collecting food for the St. James Food Pantry in Johnson City through the end of the year. Anyone who would like to donate can drop nonperishable food off at Your Home Public Library’s circulation desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
