Birthday Kits<\/strong>
For this year’s Great Giveback, the Kirkland Town Library in Clinton, New York, put together 36 birthday kits, full of all the supplies a family needs to recognize a special day. Items were donated by approximately 50 patrons and community members. The kits each contained a baking pan, cake mix, frosting, sprinkles, a can of soda (to be used instead of oil and eggs in the cake recipe), a whisk, a pot holder, plates, napkins, forks, candles, a lighter, balloons, and a birthday card. The kits will be distributed through Country Pantry, our local food bank. In addition to the complete kits, we donated approximately 100 other items, including cake mix, frosting, and party supplies, for the Pantry to distribute as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ulster County Food Fight<\/strong>
September 2nd – October 18th
The Ulster County Food Fight is an annual food collection contest held in cooperation with all of the libraries throughout Ulster County. The \u201cFood Fight\u201d is part of the Great Give Back happening throughout New York State. The common goal is to fill up the shelves of local food pantries and ending hunger in our communities.
