Books are being delivered to the Books for Africa collection site in Marietta, Georgia.
Books that have been excessed from the Fallsburg Library are being donated to Books for Africa for distribution to needy schools and libraries in Africa. We will be donating 191 boxes of books to this very worthy organization.
This will be our 2nd year making the trip to deliver books to this program. Local organizations no longer had room for donations and other programs across the country preferred only new books. Books for Africa has been happy to take our gently used books for distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the month of October we will be collecting items in support of a local domestic abuse shelter. We will be collecting socks and underwear for all ages–underwear for children, teenagers, women and men, and socks for toddlers, teens and adult for women and men. Also, with Christmas around the corner, we will be collecting new, gently used, or, if you are feeling creative – homemade Christmas stockings. If you feel like doing even more we will also be collecting newly purchased pillows to be given out when someone enters the shelter and can take with them when leaving.
The smallest things bring so much comfort and dignity to every person!
This program is open to everyone. There will be labeled boxes in the main entrance\/section of the library for all items. We are open Monday-Thursday 10:00 to 8:00, Friday 10:00 to 6:00, and Saturday 10:00 to 2:00. If you are unable to drop off your items during these hours, give us a call at (845) 778-7621 and we can make arrangements with you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How it works:
Drop off your gently used children\u2019s clothing, in all sizes, from October 12-16. We\u2019ll be collecting children\u2019s clothes, shoes, coats, winter wear and Halloween costumes. Clothing must be clean and in good condition: no odors, rips, holes or stains.
Items will be sorted by size and category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return on Saturday, October 17, 11am-3pm, to \u201cshop\u201d for free for what your family needs.
You do not need to donate something to take something.

Food Collection for St. Paul\u2019s Food Cupboard in Valley Cottage<\/strong>

Help the Food Cupboard create Thanksgiving food baskets for families by donating holiday food items like boxed stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes, canned yams\/sweet potatoes, and canned vegetables. Other donations needed include: cereal, oatmeal, pasta, boxed macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, dry beans, rice, canned meats, canned fruit, and cooking oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donations of non-perishable, non-expired items can be placed in the collection box by the Circulation Desk.
