Apalachin Library<\/strong><\/a><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Apalachin Library collected socks for their give back program. They found that many charities and even schools need socks. They are one of the most asked for donations. Children who came into the library colored socks for the donation bin which was left in the lobby. Patrons and staff were very generous!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellmore Memorial Library<\/a><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellmore Memorial Library held a food drive for the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s Community Cupboard, a student run organization that feeds 50 local families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cairo Public Library<\/a><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cairo Public Library partnered with the Columbia-Greene Domestic Violence Shelter to collect umbrella strollers, sheets and towels among other things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coburn Free Library<\/a><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our sincere thanks to all who donated clothing or food! We are over the moon with joy for the donations gathered for the Tioga County Rural Ministry<\/a> from The Great Give Back: Warm Hands, Warm Feet<\/a> Project! Just look at the bounty! Not pictured are the bags already loaded in my trunk for delivery. In a second program, also supporting Tioga County Rural Ministry, we partnered with the Charles H. Basset Youth Foundation on Make a Difference Day, gathering food for Thanksgiving meals. We love our patrons and our Tioga County community. Together, we CAN make a difference!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

East Hampton Public Library<\/a><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At East Hampton, children made hearts for The Retreat, teens had an outreach table at their high school’s homecoming fair, and adults donated pet food and supplies for ARF! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easton Public Library<\/a><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Easton Public Library held a donation drive collecting new warm winter socks, mittens, gloves, scarves, and hats sized for teens and adults to benefit emergency shelters of Warren and Washington counties : the Open Door Mission and the Wait House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elmont participated in the Great Give Back on Sat., October 23. They partnered with Birthday Wishes of Long Island. Their teen volunteers wrapped 25 birthday boxes which will be filled with their collection of juice boxes and toys for children living in homeless shelters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harborfields Public Library<\/strong><\/a><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are pictures of Harborfields Teens who participated in the Great Giveback Beach Clean-up at Centerport Beach. The teens earned community service hours learning about the problem of debris in the marine environment from an instructor from Cornell Cooperative Extension. They gave back by giving their time to a worthy cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirkland Town Library<\/a><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirkland Town Library shared a photo of the many toiletry items their wonderful patrons donated during their great give back event!  All of the donated toiletries are going to be distributed among the Utica Rescue Mission and the Country Pantry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lindenhurst Memorial Library<\/a><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its Great Giveback Celebration, the Lindenhurst Memorial Library helped clean up their local beach at Venetian Shores. In addition, they held a green Halloween costume swap, and a bike safety\/repair workshop at our library. They also made and collected over 60 cards for hospitalized kids!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Millbrook Library<\/a><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Millbrook Library made fleece blankets for kids in hospitals, dog toys for a local animal shelter from old t-shirts, and had a food drive for two organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year for the Great Give Back, the Pearl River Public Library collected food and household item donations for St. Aedan’s Food Pantry. Our patrons donated over 300 items for this local charity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
